A word About Commissioning Work

At one time, I used to charge roughly ten dollars per page to illustrate other people's story ideas. For that price I would create the drawing sets and e-mail them or send printed versions to the person who had commisioned them, myself keeping both the rights to the set and the original artwork. I accepted and completed several of these over the years but eventually hit a wall, as my ambition in such projects (or any other creative tasks for that matter) tends to peter out completely from time to time. Although all my art commissions have now been completed, I lost contact with a couple of my clients, and consequently I believe one or two of them may not have even gotten all the work that they paid for. (I am hoping that by launching this website those clients will find me and be able to finally retrieve their long awaited drawing sets.)

That brings us to now. Simply put, I will no longer be accepting professional art commissions. The reason for this is that I have consistently proven to be very unprofessional about it, and I don't wish for this to go on any more. It seems that my nature is to get very much into my Green Tower Illustrations work for periods of time ranging from a couple weeks to a couple months, and during that time I usually manage to crank out several additional storylines, not to mention I usually start a few that sit on the back burner until my next wave of motivation hits.

Over the years, in spite of my wavering ambition, I have managed to build up a rather enormous body of work and I very much enjoy sharing it with my fellow catfight enthusiasts. For the most part I particularly enjoy creating my own storylines and find when it's somebody else's or I've been given cash to do one I have a very hard time getting into it. Still, all of this is not to say I am not interested in making any money off of my artwork, or that I am completely unwilling to illustrate other people's story ideas.

From this point on, I will handle requests to illustrate storylines in the following fashion.

If you were thinking about contacting me to commmision some work, simply e-mail me or post your story ideas to the message board. In the past I have worked from people's extremely detailed story lines, somewhat more vague and open ended story lines, and even drawn from photos of people's girlfriends, wives, co workers, favorite actresses, etc., to the best of my ability. Anyone is free to post their ideas or e-mail me privately with them. I will not accept any money of any kind up front for any story ideas, and to put it in the simplest terms possible, I will either illustrate them or I won't. I may illustrate them immediately, I may do them at some later time.

On that note, if I do choose to illustrate someone's ideas, they will be under no obligation to pay me for them, though I would be more than happy to accept a donation of any kind for creating the drawing set. There is of course no obligation for anyone to do so, as there will be no obligation for me to do the drawings. However, I can say with full confidence that if somebody sends me a little cash for bringing one of their fantasies to life in my own peculiar style, I will be far more likely to do additional sets in the future. (Though again there will be no contractual agreement of any kind.)

I would also, of course, be willing to accept a donations from anybody who simply appreciates my drawings and wishes to contribute. I can always use help with art supplies, and the more money I make from my artwork, the less time I will have to spend in the drudgery of full time employment elsewhere, giving me of course more time to create new drawing sets to post to the site for all to enjoy.

There is yet another way I've come up with to make a little capital from my endeavors if anybody is interested. For the most part I've never been willing to part with any of my original drawings, but I could easily do a re-draw of any one of them. The price for these will be ten dollars each (the same price I used to charge for illustrating art commissions) and this is how I will do them. If there are any of my drawings you would like original art of, let me know and I will basically trace the original with pencil, recolor it (again with colored pencils) and re-ink it. I can change any small details that you would like, and in fact you could effectively put together your own fight stories out of different panels from my existing artwork. This is something I can do relatively quickly and without too much trouble, so even if I'm in one of my funk periods I will still be able to do this. I can sign them and date them if you would like, or not. I can add word balloons or leave them off. It's all up to you. What you will receive is the original artwork (They are always drawn on standard 8 by 11 white stock) in sheet protectors inside a cardboard binder flat in a manilla envelope.

In any event I would like to assure you all that this website is here to stay. At the moment I still have a great deal of surplus to add to the site, and I am currently extremely active in creating new material, so there should be some new stuff appearing on here at least once a week for a very long time to come.

Finally I would like to re-iterate: IF YOU HAVE COMMISIONED WORK FROM ME IN THE PAST AND NEVER RECEIVED ALL OF IT: PLEASE CONTACT ME FOR THE REST OF YOUR DRAWINGS!!!!

Sincerely,
Dr. Green
